The Federation of North Texas Area Universities is a consortium of three institutions in the North Texas area:
The primary purpose of the Federation is to engage in institutional collaborations for excellence in selected graduate degree programs and fields of study, to facilitate graduate students’ professional development and research opportunities, and to coordinate administrative services for the benefit of graduate students at the three institutions. The Federation has operated since 1968 when it was approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
The 2019 symposium was held on April 5, 2019 in Denton at the University of North Texas at University Union.

Texas Woman's University winner
Anne Davenport is a PhD student in Molecular Biology at TWU (her research advisor there is Dr. Dianna Hynds), but she received her MS from TAMUC and continues to work in Dr. Cheriyath’s lab.
Anne Davenport does still work in the lab; she is a doctoral candidate of Biology Department at TWU and a part of Federation North Texas Area Universities Molecular Biology program. After completing here MS degree with us/TAMUC, she continued her research in my lab. For her doctoral degree, she is deciphering the role of a mitochondrial protein names G1P3 in breast cancer metastasis. Over 90% of breast cancer related deaths are resulting in from breast cancer cell metastasis. Recently, she co-authored an article in British Journal of Cancer that demonstrated the role of G1P3-induced mitochondrial reactive oxygen species in cancer cell metastasis. Her advisor at TWU is Dr. Dianna Hynds. ~Dr. Venu Cheriyath
